Who's Reading YA Fiction?

Teens aren’t the only people reading young adult (YA) fiction. According to one article, “55% of YA books are bought by people 18 and older. Adults aged between 30 and 44 accounted for 28% of all YA sales, and the books are purchased for their own reading the vast majority of the time.” The Hunger Games and the Twilight series are just two examples of YA fiction that became wildly popular with adult audiences as well.

So if you’re curious about YA, but you’re feeling too timid or embarrassed about giving it a try, don’t be. You just might discover a fast-paced story with memorable characters that you can relate to. In other words, a great novel.
